Prohibited Items
Cameras and/or camcorders (without their cases) and autograph seeking are permitted during the Practice Rounds on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. It is best to request autographs around the practice areas only, not during a contestant's Practice Round. Cameras and autographs are not permitted during Championship Rounds on Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

Please do not bring the following items on the Championship grounds, as there will be no place to check them. You will be required to return all prohibited items to your vehicle.

  • Bags (larger than purse or fanny pack)

Playoff Policy
In the event of a tie at the completion of play on Sunday, the USGA will conduct an 18-hole playoff on Monday, June 20. You will be notified of the time the playoff is scheduled to begin. Tickets for Monday, June 20 will be provided to you as part of your ticket packages.

The Marquee Village will be open on Monday, June 20 in the event of an 18-hole playoff. Marquee Village clients may contact Paul Buck of Restaurant Associates for limited playoff menus.

Admission Gates
Admission gates will open at 6:00 a.m. Monday through Friday. The admission gates will open Saturday and Sunday at 7:00 a.m.

The Main Admission Gate will be located off Morganton Road, adjacent to Corporate Parking and the General Parking Bus Depot located at the Pinehurst Harness Tracks. Additional gates will serve shuttles from area hotels, guests staying at the Carolina Hotel and local foot traffic.

Information/Lost & Found
Information Services will be located near the Main Admission Gate and other various locations throughout the Championship grounds. All Information Services locations will be staffed by volunteers who will be able to answer questions regarding the Championship and the Pinehurst area. Pairing sheets will also be available at Information Services. Hospitality voilunteers within the Marquee Village will also be available to provide information to you and your guests.

Lost items can be turned in or claimed at the Lost and Found Headquarters located near the Main Admission Gate. Please note that Lost and Found will not accept any items that you wich to check; it is for lost items only.

Medical Facilities
Medical Headquarters will be located in close proximity to the Main Admission Gate. There will also be several satellite medical facilities located on the course. If you or your guests are in need of medical assistance, please make security personnel or Corporate Hospitality volunteers aware and the medical team will be contacted. There will be an ambulance onsite staffed by paramedics to handle emergency situations.

Cameras/Photography
Under the current USGA policy, cameras, including video equipment, are allowed on the grounds Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday only. They are prohibited during the Championship Rounds (Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday). Please advise your guests of these restructions. This policy is subject to change based upon increased security measures.

Grandstands
There will be over 20,000 grandstand seats located throughout the golf course. Grandstands are open to the public and do not require a special credential. The course map provided in the pairing sheet will indicate all grandstand locations.

Disability Services
At the 2005 U.S. Open, a handicapped parking area will be designated in all General Parking and Corporate Parking lots. Vehicles with a handicap license plate or hang tag will be allowed access into this area with the proper parking credentials. If you have any guests who are wheelchair bound, require supplemental oxygen or have any other special needs, please call the Championship Office to make arrangements.

There will be accessible seating area available to physically challenged spectators to ensure they are provided with an unobstructed view of golf. Once your guest arrives at the General Parking Bus Depot, we will have a shuttle available to bring him/her onto the course. In addition, there will be specialty carts to assist guests and take them to special viewing areas located at the 11th and 18th greens. There will also be a limite dnumber of one-person scooters available to assist disabled spectators with maneuvering the grounds of the Championship and to get to special viewing areas. The scooters will be located by the Main Admission Gate and will be issued at no charge on a first come, first served basis.

Inclement Weather Policy
The YSGA will have a meterologist onsite monitoring Championship weather conditions. When inclement weeather is detected, please advise your guests to observe the leader boards throughout the course for Weather Warning signs, as picuted.

When this sign appears, spectators are advised to take immediate precautions and seek shelter prior to play being suspended. Suspension of play is indicated by a blast of an air horn. If this alarm is sounded, spectators should put down any umbrellas and seek shelter immediately. Also, if a Weather Warning is issued, spectators will be required to leave the grandstands. Resumption of play occurs with two short blasts of an air horn, repeated once.

In the event of a weather warning, avoid the following:

  • Tall or Isolated Trees
  • Golf Carts
  • Open Fields
  • Metal or Wire Fences
  • Hill Tops/
    High Places
  • Telephone Poles
